Stop complaining and start living!
By Focus on the Family
It never ceases to amaze me how often we can take for granted all of the many good things that we have in our lives, instead choosing to see our glass as being half-empty, failing to see that every drop in our vessel is actually a precious gift that needs to be grabbed firmly with both hands and lived to its fullest.
Which is why we should be profoundly thankful for people like Nick Vujicic (pictured above), a truly inspirational person who has chosen to embrace the hand that life has dealt him, and rather than complaining and making excuses about his situation he chooses to live his life to the absolute fullest.
Nick was born with no arms or legs yet he hasn't let this stop him from playing football, or golf, or from swimming and surfing, among other things.
e has a small foot on his left hip which helps him balance, and which he uses to type, or write with a pen and pick things up – apparently he jokingly refers to this foot as his “chicken drumstick”.
Nick’s life is a powerful testimony of the great worth and dignity of every human person, and his courage and enthusiasm for life is something truly inspiring that should remind us all that life is too short to spend it complaining about what we don't have.
Most of us haven’t taken up half the challenges that Nick has, instead we spend much of our time focused on our imperfections, or obsessing about the things we think we need to make our lives better, all the while failing to see the many, many good things we have been blessed with in our lives.
So next time you find yourself wishing for something you don't have, stop and think of Nick Vujicic and allow his truly amazing life to inspire you to firmly grab hold of every good thing in your life, and to live each moment to its fullest.
